The exhibition Maneuverable Strategies in Xm2 concluded Vibe Overgaard and Sara Kramer’s residency with the Floating Projects, a Hong Kong-based artist collective. The project examined how artists manage their work and time within societal frameworks.

The residency began with a LARP (Live Action Role Play) workshop, creating a fictional context to explore how artistic practices engage with societal structures. Building on this, Overgaard and Kramer collaborated with dancer Kayi Cheung to translate these ideas into choreographed performances across Hong Kong, highlighting the constraints of space and time.

Cheung performed within four marked squares outside a Wan Chai shopping mall—emblematic of urban density and consumerism. Cheung’s movements, confined within the boundaries, reflected the physical and social limitations in the metropolis. As she responded to the fleeting movements of passersby, the performance subtly underscored how public space is shaped and restricted, prompting reflection on the balance between movement, freedom, and limitations.
